The Eke-Out Project

The Eke-Out Project is a discrete unit within Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations’ Council (EVOC). The Project was set up in October 2002, with money from the Scottish Executive’s Changing Children’s Services Fund (CCSF), to improve the capacity of the voluntary sector to participate in the planning and delivery of services for children and young people. The Project was initially charged with mapping the voluntary organisations providing services for children, young people and families in Edinburgh and creating a database of information about them to profile the sector. In 2003, additional funding enabled the Project to expand its scope to further support the sector by developing a range of information, policy development, research and outreach services. The Project continues to receive its funding from the CCSF and is currently funded until March 2008.
